It’s January 3rd and it’s my second day doing the Whole30 Program. January 1st was supposed to be my first day but I ended up drinking some Nyquil to ease the severe flu that carried me into 2017. Nyquil has sugar in it and that’s a no no. I have a feeling people will ask me why I’m doing this. I’ve already got “Do you think you’re fat??” from a co-worker. No, I do not think I’m overweight. However, I do eat a lot of processed foods, way too much sugar, and I frequently just eat to eat. That in my eyes, is considered an unhealthy relationship with food so I’m going to be working on changing that this month. Besides, I’ve always been one for the “New Year New Me” challenge which so many people scoff at. I think the new year is a good time to have something to work towards. New beginnings!
Not eating dairy, sugars, grains, alcohol or legumes is going to be a huge challenge for me. I’m the kind of person who comes home from a long day at work to a glass of wine or some fast food. (Or both.) This month is going to make me really focus on what I am eating and force me to think outside of the box with food choices. Thanks to Pinterest, some FB Whole30 Groups, and some friends who are participating, I will hopefully become more food conscious!
Cheers to 2017!
